FOCUS Safe Parking Program
With the number of homeless people on the rise in Morgan Hill and many depending on their vehicle or RV as shelter, faith communities and the City of Morgan Hill have established a Safe Parking site to provide a safe place for up to 8 families, single women and couples who are homeless with no place to stay except their vehicles. The site is located at the Morgan Hill Bible Church,15055 Monterey Rd, Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
In addition to a place to park, relax and sleep overnight without the fear of harassment or arrest for trespassing, we offer:
If you have items on this list (or other items) that you would like to donate, please contact the South County Compassion Center 408-763-7120 to make arrangements.
Clothing
We appreciate the loving heart behind gifts of clothing, but the Safe Parking Program has no place to store them. Please direct your clothing donations to St. Catherine Church Clothes Closet All clothing in the Closet is free to our clients and others in need.
Food
Most of our food staples are provided by 2nd Harvest Food Bank, Martha's Kitchen and ReachOut food pantry. From Monday through Friday, clients can attend free dinners through the faith based Community Supper program. If you would like to help by bringing dinner for the Safe Car Park families, contact Maryann Kantmann at [email protected] to make arrangements.
