History of a Parish Pastoral Council: Vatican II called for Lay Leadership. The Diocesan Pastoral Plan and the Bishop’s commitment fully support Parish Pastoral Councils.
Purpose: The multifaceted, diverse and culturally integrated Council provides the following functions:
Visioning
Planning
Advising
Communicating
We are an advisory group with a planning function that serves the Pastor and parish community. The success of the Council is dependent upon the relationships with the Pastor, Finance Council, Staff, Parish Leaders, Ministries and Parish at large.
Council Members: The PPC is currently comprised of 11 parishioners, one staff representative and the Pastor.
Our current major goal and focus is to facilitate the Master Plan for St Catherine Parish and School. The vision for the Master Plan process is:
