There are a variety of roles involved in our music ministry. Some require extensive training and experience, and others simply require the love and passion of music with the ability to carry a tune. The psalmist is the procalimer of the Word, a cantor is the song leader for the assembly, singers in a choir add to the enhancement of the entire choral sound, instrumentalists give flavor to the personality of the mass, and the choir director ensures everything goes according to plan (or at least tries to!). Each Sunday Mass has its own choir with its own personality. Some choirs are more traditional in style, others are contemplative, and still others are more upbeat and youth oriented. Each choir has their own rehearsal time set by their accompanist and director.
