In order to receive Holy Communion for the first time, it is necessary to have some preparation. This is in order to ensure that the one receiving Holy Communion understands and appreciates this sacrament.
Catholics who were baptized as children usually make their first Holy Communion before Confirmation. But first Holy Communion and Confirmation can be done in either order. Adult Catholics who have only been baptized, receive both sacraments at the same time.
Preparation for first Holy Communion at St Catherine Parish is done according to age.
